The BC or broad spectrum version of our 10" big blue cartridge features a special carbon which is designed to reduce a wide variety of different contaminents.

These include chlorine, dissolved organics, metals, fluoride and sediment.

Note removal rates for the above are in the 70 to 90% region. Broader spectrum carbons can remove more contaminents but against this is a slightly lower reduction rate than you'd achieve with a specialist cartridge. BC cartridges do not adjust the PH or alkalinity of the water.
