The Whirlpool 4396510 is a specialised cartridge offering enhanced filtration over the regular 4396508 model.    If you fridge uses the 4396508 then this model will serve as a direct replacement, should the additional filtration requirements be desirable.

The Whirlpool range of cartridges are designed to be replaced every six months or when the 'replace cartridge' light comes on (if fitted).  If the fridge remains unused for any period of time greater than two weeks (e.g. moving house), the manufacturer recommends changing the cartridge.
