Includes fitting kit, storage vessel, tap and first set of filters
The SRO50 is brand new to our product range for Summer 2007. It is a great value, multi-stage reverse osmosis system, which will reliably generate virtually pure water for domestic drinking water applications.
Reverse osmosis works by forcing water under pressure against a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane allows water molecules through BUT not those of contaminents. These contaminents are rejected, along with waste water, to a regular drain pipe under your sink (easy fit adapter supplied). The filtered water is then automatically stored in a tank (called a pressure vessel) which supplies the water directly to the tap.
The purpose of the vessel is because RO water is supplied at a relatively slow rate (literally a trickle), a storage vessel means water can be delivered at a more appropriate flow rate. The entire process of the RO activating and filling this tank (which is all concealed under the sink) is entirely automated and maintenance free.
In terms of cartridges our RO systems require three cartridge changes every six months, at a total cost of approximately £30 including postage. The membrane does not require changing as a matter of routine BUT it does have a limited lifespan. Our history with these products would lead us to say two to four years is the realistic lifespan of a membrane.
This system is currently being offered at introductory pricing
Technical notes
This particular model can produce 80 litres of water per day at maximum operating efficiency. You will require 3 Bar of water pressure for this system to function properly - any less and you will require a booster pump which we can supply (option below). If you turn on your kitchen taps and it splatters well off the bottom of the sink the chances are your pressure is fine. With a booster pump the estimated production capacity of this system is 100l per day.
