Seems a well constructed filter, and like the idea of having silver impregnated ceramic outer, however after a couple of weeks use it is losing its ability to remove chlorine taste as compared say to a pozzani ix600, but according to doultons site this cartridge is not suitable for pressure fed systems, quite how it could be used in a non pressure fed gravity one I don't know! but they recommend a solid carbon block alternative for this purpose not granular, which surprises me. Did try an ix600p filter also but had to remove it after a few weeks due to health effects, Had a spotless clean kettle, but suffered symptoms from having no calcium/magnesium in drinking water, will now probably try the doulton solid carbon 10" and see how that goes before perhaps reverting to the standard pozzani ix600. |

I only fitted this filter last week and even now I think the drinking water tastes better, because of the ceramic outer I may have to clean it more often but I think it will be worth the upgrade, only time will tell !! |
