This system is new for 2010, and is based on our popular IX600 water filter series. 

 

The BC600 cartridge offers excellent chemical reduction, removing 95% plus of all chlorine, thms, heavy metals and dissolved organics.   This particular cartridge will also remove some fluoride, although the percentage of removal is very much dependent on the chemical balance of your water.    The BC600 cartridge is chosen in preference to our IX600 cartridge because it does not contain ion-exchange media which means any water hardnes already in the water will remain.   This has been combined with a second housing (and second cartridge) which is a calcite based remineralisation filter, which effectively increases the amount of calcium in the water, thereby increasing its hardness and with it the pH and Alkalinity.   Output water from this system in most environments should be between 8.5 and 9.5pH, depending on the flow rate.

 

Drinking Alkaline water is a personal choice - The science behind this is something for each person to weigh up for themselves, however, we have taken the approach to build this system because frankly the 'limited' market catering for people desiring such filters is somewhat overpriced.   We have built this using tried and tested media, from industry standard parts, and we have priced our filters at the same level of all of our other cartridges.   Most customers will require just two cartridges every six months, at a delivered cost of £31.90 - however, for this you get the benefits of treated water on tap, which we believe to be of a higher standard than many of the competing cartridge based systems currently on the market in this sector.

The system is plumbed-in which means it fits below your kitchen sink, however, we have designed this to be easy to install, and no cutting of existing pipework is required.
