The Black Box uses advanced and reliable radio frequency technology to combat scale.
The radio signals are varied by a micro-processor over a four minute loop programme. These signals are transmitted to the pipework via two aerial wires wrapped around the cold water pipe near to the rising (incoming) main pipe. All copper, plastic and iron pipes are suitable for treatment (but not lead). The transmitted signals destabilise Calcium Carbonate and Magnesium Sulphate ions causing them to take on a new crystal structure. These minerals then lose their bonding characteristics so their tendency to stick to any surface is dramatically reduced.
