Thanks for your positive comments Vanessa. The Kenwood range of universal cartridges are not presently recyclable - such a programme would have to be provided by the manufacturer really since the technology to safely reprocess ten of thousands of cartridges would certainly require quite specialist machinery.
As a company we are taking a positive stance on green issues, and our IX250 plumbed in system will soon feature a cartridge which is designed to break down after use into separate components - with the plastics etc going in your recycling bin. Our own view with these products is recycling is best handled at the local level, where bulk processing of plastics etc almost certainly has a lower carbon footprint than returning individual items back to us (to essentially hand them off for reprocessing anyway).
In terms of the environment we still believe a Kenwood cartridge is beneficial overall. If you compare a kenwood filter to the equivalent amount of bottles you\'d need if buying water from the supermarket (and the transport etc involved in moving water about) you\'d be looking at saving at least 50 to 100 plastic bottles per month. |

The filters are excellent value since they offer a greater volume of water filtered than named brands and they are in fact lower in price.
The service from the web site is first class aqnd delivery is prompt.
We have used them now for a couple of years and have no intention of changing. |
