This is a new version of the DA29-00003A fridge filter cartridge

The Samsung DA29-00003B - Samsung part number DA61-00159B - is the new replacement cartridge for all Samsung refrigerators that have internally fitting cartridges (i.e. that fit within the refrigerator compartment itself).  If your fridge was purchased after April 2005 the chances are it will probably be fitted with this cartridge as standard.  However, older fridges with the DA29-00003A cartridges can still use this model.

Previously, most Samsung owners with these cartridges would have used the version ending with an 'A' suffix, however, as part of their continuing development, Samsung have increased the specification to remove additional contaminents such as pesticides, which the previous version was incapable of handling.

In almost all other aspects the 'B' cartridge looks, fits and works in exactly the same way as the older model(s) and it has the same life-span of six months.
