This cartridge is better suited to removing Chloramine as opposed to regular Chlorine, and is intended to act as a replacement for IX250/230 cartridges in Chloraminated areas.
Chloramine is a more stable means of chlorinating domestic water supplies, and is becoming increasingly more common throughout the UK. This cartridge is better suited to removing Chloramine as opposed to regular Chlorine, and is intended to act as a replacement for IX250/230 cartridges in Chloraminated areas.
We only advise changing from an IX250 to this cartridge if you notice a distinct change in the taste of your water supply, and you have confirmed (either with us or your water supplier) that you have Chloraminated water.
Other than the difference in Chlorine/Chloramine, the cartridge specification is identical to the IX250 in that it will also remove dissolved organic pollutants such as agro-chemicals, solvents, THM's, TCE's, PCB's, etc.
